Get the look from London Fashion Week

You can always expect something weird and wonderful at London Fashion Week. This year there were a few outrageous sites on the runway but overall the style was very classic with plenty of originality, creativity and quirkiness.

The key to adapting catwalk styles to your everyday life is simple. You can create the look by identifying a few trends and making them work for you.

We’ve identified four key hair and beauty looks you can try yourself. Dooa has a range of beauty brands that can help you inject a little model glamour into your life.

Side Pony Tail

This has been skirting around the edges of fashion for a while and its presence on the catwalk at London Fashion Week suggests it will be a key style for spring and summer.

If your hair is slightly shorter then remember you can use Clip’N Go Hair Extensions by Dream Girl to elongate your locks and add a little volume. Simply attach from the nape of the neck and work up to the crown.

Comb hair with your fingers, this isn’t a look that needs to be too ‘finished’. Gather hair over one shoulder and make a side parting on the other side of your head. Tie hair to just behind the ear. Arrange a few strands to fall around your face.

Finish with a little spray that is suitable for use with Hair Extensions and you’re ready to hit the streets.

Statement lips

Match your side pony tail with a statement lip. Red was the colour of the runway at this year’s London Fashion Week.

For lips to have the biggest impact, you need to treat them before you add any tint.

Exfoliate lips gently, you can use a toothbrush to do this then moisturise thoroughly. If lips aren’t smooth then the colour will flake off. Apple the first layer of colour, be it a lipstick by Dream Girl or even a lip gloss, using a brush. This will ensure you get and even distribution of colour. Once the first layer is dried add the second.

A quick beauty tip, set the colour by pressing your lips against a tissue, this take off the excess and helps it dry faster and stay in place.

With a statement lip you need not wear much eye makeup. Simply add a flick of mascara and you’re ready to go.

Bouffant hair

Big voluminous hair has been a major look on the red carpet for 12 months. This London Fashion Week it returned to the catwalk but with a cute twist.

This is a real sixties style and adding a hairband like the model here will help keep hair off your face and emphasise the volume at the crown.

For those of us with fine hair we may need a little bit of help to achieve this look.

Hair Extensions, whether those sewn or glued in by a stylist, or Dream Girl’s Clip’N Go Hair Extensions are the easiest and the quickest way to add instant volume.

Once extensions are fitted, brush hair back gently from the hairline. If you have a fringe you may need to use a little hairspray to make sure it stays smooth.

Add even more volume with a little backcombing. Simply hold a lock of hair straight up and comb gently towards the scalp with a wide toothed comb.

For the headband you want something thin. Begin by slotting above the ears and then push back the hair so it is flat at the front, and then volumised at the crown.

Natural look

The natural look is always great for spring.

A healthy glow with clear skin and bright eyes are the only accessories you need for this look.

However, natural doesn’t mean you can’t get a little help.

For your hair, gentle waves look best with this style. If you hair is straight remember to look at Dream Girl’s Waves and Curls range of Hair Extensions which will add texture and volume to your own locks. Opt for Hair Extensions that will last a few months, or one’s you can add and take out by yourself. This is a natural look so remember to use Dream Girl’s Colour Comparator to match Hair Extensions to your own shade as closely as possible.

Style with a side parting.

For your skin, ensure you use a good moisturiser and then add a few dots of concealer to cover any blemishes or dark circles under the eyes. Opt for a soft natural lip colour and instead of blusher try a Bronzing Powder like Dream Girl’s Medium Bronze to add a hint of colour.

Keep eyes natural and brush eyebrows. If they are very fair either use an eyebrow brush or even a little brown eye shadow to add a little dark.
