Summer is here!

Summer is here! And what better way to get ready for the Bar-B- Q’s and Beach Parties than to look smashing with stronger, healthier hair and sun kissed skin. Shea Moistures new range of Coconut & Hibiscus Collection blends exotic fruits and floral ingredients for radiant skin and hair.

The Island-inspired collection remedies some of the most common beauty issues; including dull and dry skin as well as skin discolouration.

Fragrant Hibiscus Flower tightens and tones the skin, while Songyi Mushrooms even and brightens the complexion. Rich Coconut Oil and Shea Butter provide a mix of intense moisturizers that penetrate the scalp, hair and skin. The Shea Butter also tames the frizz, while defining and maintaining your natural curls.

A great way to lavish your skin and hair is to use products from Shea Moistures new Raw Shea Butter Collection. Not only do they provide extreme moisture and nourishing vitamins, with fatty acids, to your hair; but they also deeply infiltrate and restore dry skin on the scalp and body.

To be able to have soft, smooth and conditioned skin, Shea Moisture used a family recipe that blend only the purest Raw Shea Butter, with rich, nourishing natural nutrients which help soothe and revive sensitive and broken skin.

Shea Moisture also created the Yucca & Baobab Collection which helps strengthen and volumize fine, lacklustre hair. Baobab is filled with nutrients and has vitamins such as A, D, E and F that help restore and moisturize the hair; and Yucca helps thicken and strengthen weak and thinning hair.

Dooa has collaborated with Breast Cancer Care

For some people hair extensions are just a fashion statement but for some it can be the boost of confidence they need.

Dooa has decided to team up with breast cancer care to show our support.
Talking about breast cancer and getting the right support for everyone involved can be difficult, around 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, 400 of them are men. More than 8 out of 10 people survive breast cancer beyond five years; this is down to the earlier detection and better treatments after the diagnosis of breast cancer. It is thought that around 550,000 people are alive in the UK who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

So during the month of October we at Dooa felt that participating in a Pink Friday would be the ideal event to make a difference and what a turn out it was!!!!

We are very pleased to announce that we raised a grand total of £150! This money not only helped to buy a suitable headscarf for someone who is undergoing treatment, but also matched someone with breast cancer to a trained volunteer for one-to-one support.

Dooa wants to say thank you!

Fashion and beauty can often seem all about what’s on the outside.

After all a lot of the time we’re talking to you about ways of making your hair look great, or tapping in to the latest cosmetic trends. It might make you think we don’t care about you as people, although we do.

You see at Dream Girl a big part of our job, as we see it, is making you feel at your very best. It’s not just about the beauty on the outside; it’s what is on the inside that counts. If you feel confident, glamorous and stylish on the outside then chances are it gives you a boost on the inside. If Dream Girl helps you feel like that for just a little bit then we think it’s worth it. Remember our New Face, that’s why we picked someone who was just like you. Anyone can be a Dream Girl.

You might remember, a few months ago, a team from Dream Girl and Dooa went to run the Luxembourg Marathon. They took part in the race to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. If you’ve never had to use it then we would wish you never have to, but just knowing it’s there can make you feel better. The hospital sees their job as not just looking after children and making them better, but putting a smile on their face. Their job and their role is about so much more than medicine.

Dooa was proud to be able to tell people we were raising money for GOSH. We’re a family run business and not only are we one of the leading beauty wholesalers in the UK but we’ve got two generations working under the same roof.

The ‘London Singhs’ who ran the Luxeumbourg Marathon to raise money for GOSH are Jass, Gurpreet, Manjit and Mantet. The course was over 42,195km and there wasn’t much of a chance to enjoy the sites of the historic city as they went past.

At the time we asked to support us, by being part of our family as well, by donating money. And you did. You donated LOADS. We’ve been able to give a cheque to GOSH for £3,000.

Dooa wants to say thank you So thank you. Thank you from everyone at Dooa and Dream Girl and from those at GOSH who’ll benefit from your generosity. You’ve shown us that you’re all just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside.

A guide to Dooa’s new website

As one of the premier European hair and beauty wholesalers we wanted to make it easier to find exactly what you need. We want to insure that, from the moment you visit our website you’re only a few steps away from finding the product you’re looking for.

Dooa supplies a range of different brands including Dream Girl, Sapna, Palmers, Dark and Lovely and My Hair. Every stockist, stylist and salon that comes to our site is looking for something different. So what we’ve tried to do is to make the site as intuitive as possible.

There’s a breakdown of products at the top of the page. If you’re looking for Hair Extensions, or Skin Care that makes it easier to find it quickly. You’ll also find a breakdown in terms of brands on the right hand side of the page if that’s how you prefer to find products.

We have added a section on best-selling and recommended products on the HomePage. This helps you to see where demand is and what other stockists might be buying.

If you leave the HomePage and go into a product section you’ll find a further breakdown to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. For example, select Hair Pieces and on the left you’ll see a menu including Closures, Synthetic Weft, Synthetic Braids, Scrunchie and Pony on Comb. There are images for each product to help you form a better idea of what you need.

From the individual product page you can filter your search by brand, style, size or length and colour.

Dooa has spent over a generation working in the hair and beauty industry. We’ve formed strong relationships with our clients and have developed an understanding of how they like to work. You can become a Trade Partner with Dooa. On the top right hand corner of the HomePage you’ll see the Trade Partner log in. If you bulk buy being a Trade Partner can help cut down on costs. Dooa has a large hair and beauty warehouse based in London so we are able to store lots of products with greater variety and choice than many other companies. A larger amount of stock means our Trade Partners don’t have to wait to get the products they’ve ordered to their door.

A salon or stockist can register with Dooa and setup a trade account.

Dooa wants to make it easier for you to find exactly what you need. We hope our new site makes doing business and replenishing your stock much easier.

What will Sapna 100% Brazilian hair extensions mean for you?

You can add volume and length, enhance your natural look with incredible style. Wear your hair long or wear it up, you can have the hair you’ve always dreamed of.
Please note, this product has been professionally dyed and treated to produce the intended colour.

NO alteration like colouring, re-dying, re-processing or re-styling is recommended.

How Dream Girl prepares your Hair Extensions

If you wear or stock 100% human hair extensions then a lot of work goes in to making sure they are cleaned and styled properly.

Dream Girl prides itself, as one of the premier hair extensions brands in Europe, on making sure all its products are sourced ethically. At every stage of the process as they work their way to the shelf, and ultimately your head, we take great care to every one of our Hair Extensions is treated delicately and safely.

So here is the process of how it works, from their source to you.

The first stage is the disinfectant and dyeing process. There are hair markets who sell raw human hair fibres. Each batch is sold by weight. Dream Girl works with only ethical suppliers who can prove their trade lines. The hair we receive is already washed and cleaned.

Even though the hair is cleaned, Dream Girl adds a processing stage. Like a deep cleanse we treat the hair to remove any potentially harmful bacteria. It is like a disinfectant that uses very hot steam along with a treatment to kill any bacteria. This process takes two hours. The products used are then washed off so there is no evidence of them by the time they get to you.

Once the hair is fully cleansed it is sorted into lengths and then bleached and coloured to achieve the right shade. To offer a range like Dream Girl that comes in over 80 different colours from Snow White to Burgundy hair needs to be coloured. We use regular hydrogen peroxide based dyes.

It takes between one and three hours to dye hair to the right colour. It depends how rich the shade needs to be. The hair is then thoroughly rinsed and then it is time for styling. Whether waves or curls once the hair is styled it then needs to be dried. We use what are like hot ovens to dry the hair completely before it is styled. This takes around two to three hours.

The Hair Extensions are now finished. They are sent to the packaging department who put them into the parcels and packaging that you receive them in when you buy Dream Girl Hair Extensions.

Spring clean your beauty

Time for a spring clean? Not your home, your look.

As we shake off the winter months it’s time to experiment with new styles from bang on trend nail shades to a fresh hairstyle. Reinvention and makeover is what modern women are best at.

Yet before we start to add new colours and new shades we have to make sure the canvas is ready.

After harsh winter weather our skin and hair can need a little looking after.

Here are our tips to make you feel like a new you, just in time for spring

Nails
Before you add colour or experiment with a new shade, make sure nails are strong. Weak and brittle and putting colour on top might make them liable to crack and break. Use a hand moisturiser to rub into nails and gently shape the cuticles. When you file nails, give a curved shape to them. Only file in one direction to prevent cracking. Blow away any dust left from filing and then use either a little strengthening oil or moisturiser again to rub into nails and cuticles. This helps keep them soft. Once moisturiser has been absorbed you can add a new colour.

Nail Polish Col. Vixen Dream Girl is bang on trend for this season’s bold shades.

Skin
Winter wind and rain along with indoor heating can dry skin out. Combat this by drinking plenty of water and exfoliating skin once a week to remove any dead cells. Make sure skin is moisturised daily and than any dry patches are treated with an intensive moisturiser.

To keep a healthy glow use either Dream Girl’s Pump Foundation or Tube Foundation to give an even cover. Both come in a variety of shades and provide a creamy application to ensure they skin does not dry out.

Hair
Just like your skin your hair can get dry, particularly at the tips. Throughout the winter you should use an intensive moisture pack for your hair. Try to reduce the number of times you need to use heat, for example using a blow drier or straighteners as this can damage already tired hair.

If you already have Dream Girl Hair Extensions you can buy special shampoo and conditioner designed specifically to keep your extensions shiny and healthy for longer.

You might be planning to treat yourself to Dream Girl Hair Extensions to give you a new look this spring. Make sure your natural hair is in tip top condition before hair extensions are fitted. This will create an even healthier and vibrant look once you add extensions for volume or length.

Step out feeling Chic

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to transform your style then a wig is a great solution.

Made using either synthetic hair or 100% human hair, a wig is the easiest solution if you want to chop and change your look, without making a long-term commitment.

And Dream Girl’s Chic Collection is the ideal range with a host of styles, lengths, textures and colours to suit everyone.

In a new film on Dream Girl’s You Tube channel you can watch stylist Lynn Wallis select a new wig for Laine.

It’s perfect if you have short hair and want to try a new style that is a little longer.

The first thing to do is to check for a colour that best matches you.

How to choose depends on how the colour makes you look. If it isn’t right for your complexion, i.e., it’s too dark, you might end up looking washed out. A colour that doesn’t suit you will make a wig look unnatural and the idea is to make it look as seamless your own locks.

If you go to Dream Girl’s Colour Chart for the Chic Collection you’ll see they have a range of colours from Apricot Blond to Sunset Brown, and everything in between.

You also need to try on a a few to get the right style. Whether with a fringe or a layered cut you want to choose a wig that best suits the shape of your face and will compliment you. It should feel comfortable as well and fit securely on your scalp.

Dream Girl’s Chic Collection is made up of finely wefted wigs, which means the hair is much more likely to fall naturally, making it easier for you to turn it into a great hairstyle.

In the video the stylist uses curling tongs and plenty of hairspray to add a little volume and style to Laine’s wig. You can use rollers to add a little lift at the roots and tongs for a shape at the tips. Spray will help keep the style in for longer.

Get the look from London Fashion Week

You can always expect something weird and wonderful at London Fashion Week. This year there were a few outrageous sites on the runway but overall the style was very classic with plenty of originality, creativity and quirkiness.

The key to adapting catwalk styles to your everyday life is simple. You can create the look by identifying a few trends and making them work for you.

We’ve identified four key hair and beauty looks you can try yourself. Dooa has a range of beauty brands that can help you inject a little model glamour into your life.

Side Pony Tail

This has been skirting around the edges of fashion for a while and its presence on the catwalk at London Fashion Week suggests it will be a key style for spring and summer.

If your hair is slightly shorter then remember you can use Clip’N Go Hair Extensions by Dream Girl to elongate your locks and add a little volume. Simply attach from the nape of the neck and work up to the crown.

Comb hair with your fingers, this isn’t a look that needs to be too ‘finished’. Gather hair over one shoulder and make a side parting on the other side of your head. Tie hair to just behind the ear. Arrange a few strands to fall around your face.

Finish with a little spray that is suitable for use with Hair Extensions and you’re ready to hit the streets.

Statement lips

Match your side pony tail with a statement lip. Red was the colour of the runway at this year’s London Fashion Week.

For lips to have the biggest impact, you need to treat them before you add any tint.

Exfoliate lips gently, you can use a toothbrush to do this then moisturise thoroughly. If lips aren’t smooth then the colour will flake off. Apple the first layer of colour, be it a lipstick by Dream Girl or even a lip gloss, using a brush. This will ensure you get and even distribution of colour. Once the first layer is dried add the second.

A quick beauty tip, set the colour by pressing your lips against a tissue, this take off the excess and helps it dry faster and stay in place.

With a statement lip you need not wear much eye makeup. Simply add a flick of mascara and you’re ready to go.

Bouffant hair

Big voluminous hair has been a major look on the red carpet for 12 months. This London Fashion Week it returned to the catwalk but with a cute twist.

This is a real sixties style and adding a hairband like the model here will help keep hair off your face and emphasise the volume at the crown.

For those of us with fine hair we may need a little bit of help to achieve this look.

Hair Extensions, whether those sewn or glued in by a stylist, or Dream Girl’s Clip’N Go Hair Extensions are the easiest and the quickest way to add instant volume.

Once extensions are fitted, brush hair back gently from the hairline. If you have a fringe you may need to use a little hairspray to make sure it stays smooth.

Add even more volume with a little backcombing. Simply hold a lock of hair straight up and comb gently towards the scalp with a wide toothed comb.

For the headband you want something thin. Begin by slotting above the ears and then push back the hair so it is flat at the front, and then volumised at the crown.

Natural look

The natural look is always great for spring.

A healthy glow with clear skin and bright eyes are the only accessories you need for this look.

However, natural doesn’t mean you can’t get a little help.

For your hair, gentle waves look best with this style. If you hair is straight remember to look at Dream Girl’s Waves and Curls range of Hair Extensions which will add texture and volume to your own locks. Opt for Hair Extensions that will last a few months, or one’s you can add and take out by yourself. This is a natural look so remember to use Dream Girl’s Colour Comparator to match Hair Extensions to your own shade as closely as possible.

Style with a side parting.

For your skin, ensure you use a good moisturiser and then add a few dots of concealer to cover any blemishes or dark circles under the eyes. Opt for a soft natural lip colour and instead of blusher try a Bronzing Powder like Dream Girl’s Medium Bronze to add a hint of colour.

Keep eyes natural and brush eyebrows. If they are very fair either use an eyebrow brush or even a little brown eye shadow to add a little dark.
